If you have already made your booking and wish to add an infant (0-2 years), you need to:
- Click ‘My Bookings’ on Ryanair’s website or ‘My trips’ on the mobile app.
- Log into your myRyanair account.
- Select ‘Manage this booking’ on the booking you need to change.
- Select “Add minors” from the left-hand menu and click on “Add Infant”.
- Enter the name and date of birth for the infant.
- Choose the adult passenger you want the infant to travel with.
- Click to Add infant.
- Pay the applicable infant fee.*
- Infant will be added to your booking.
Once the change is confirmed, you will be brought back to the upcoming trip page and will see the infant next to the adult passenger selected to travel with.
If any seat(s) change are needed when adding an infant, you will be taken to the seat map to confirm those changes.
Adults travelling with an infant can carry a baby bag up to 5kg, in addition to their cabin bag allowance. You can also carry one fully collapsible pushchair and another smaller item such a car seat or travel cot for free. Ensure that your pushchair is tagged at bag drop desk or boarding gate. Any other items (maximum 20kg) will need to be checked in for a fee and place in the aircraft hold. For further baggage info click here.
If your infant turns 2 years before their return journey, you must purchase a full-fare adult ticket for their return flight. Please contact us if this scenario arises.
*Check the infant fee on our table of fees here.
Minors (2-15 years) cannot be added to an existing adult’s booking (as they are not allowed to travel alone), however you can create a new adult booking for them and link it to your original booking so you can travel together. Note that the minor must travel accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. The passenger type will be updated for each minor during the linking process to either a child (2-11years) or teen (12-15 years).
Important Info
- To link the bookings, go to the original adult booking and select “Add minors” from the left-hand menu
- Select, or retrieve, the new adult booking you created, enter the date of birth for each minor, and then both bookings will be linked with the passenger types updated.
- You should check-in online for both bookings, otherwise you will be charged at the airport. Minors will be issued temporary boarding passes during online check-in.
- If purchasing a seat for a child, we recommend selecting a seat as close as possible to an adult in the original booking.'
- When you arrive at the airport, go to the check-in desk where all minors will be issued valid boarding passes.
- For children with no seats assigned, staff at the check-in desk will assign seats next to an adult. If that's no possible, cabin crew will help seat you together.
It’s not necessary to add an adult to an existing booking as adult tickets can be purchased individually.
If one of the passengers in your booking cannot travel, no action is needed. We cannot remove them from the booking, and no refund will be issued.
