Carriage of Medical Equipment
If you wish to carry or use a special medical device e.g. (Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) and CPAP machines) onboard you must submit your requirements via the online form. Our special assistance team will review and determine if your request can be approved. If approved, we will provide you with written confirmation of this.

EpiPens, capsules, tablets, pills, liquid medications (such as syrups or drops), inhalers, topical medications (like creams or gels), and diabetic supplies can be carried in your cabin baggage. These items are generally small in size and do not require a baggage waiver letter.
Passengers are permitted to carry syringes in the aircraft cabin if they are needed for medical reasons, for example a diabetic passenger. However, passengers should carry a doctor's letter confirming their requirement.
If you need to bring essential medical supplies such as ostomy equipment, PKU products, TPN feed, or dialysis fluids in addition to your standard cabin or checked baggage, a medical baggage waiver letter is required.
Only items listed in the waiver letter will be accepted for carriage free of charge. Please ensure that these items are packed separately and available for inspection at the airport.

A Fit to Fly Form is required to be completed when fitness to travel is in doubt as a result of recent illness, hospitalization, injury or surgery, if you have an existing unstable medical condition, if you wish to use medical equipment or therapeutic oxygen on-board.
If you are in any doubt about your fitness to fly, please consult your doctor before booking your flight. A Fit to Fly Form can be obtained by contacting our Special Assistance team.
These devices may be carried in the cabin of the aircraft without prior notification if the device fits in your cabin baggage. However, if the device will be carried in addition to your baggage allowance you must obtain a medical baggage waiver letter by contacting our Special Assistance team.

If you wish to use a nebuliser, ventilator, respirator or any other respiratory device during your flight please contact our Special Assistance line to obtain prior approval. To use one of these machines onboard you will need to complete a “Fit to fly form” which will be sent to you once you have contacted our Special Assistance team.
If you wish to travel with a POC please contact our Special Assistance team to obtain prior approval and a Medical Equipment Approval & Baggage Waiver.
This approval & waiver letter must be presented at the Bag Drop desk or at the boarding gate if travelling with no checked baggage.
If you wish to use a POC during your flight please contact our Special Assistance team to obtain prior approval.
Once your device has been approved for use onboard, you must also carry your doctor’s letter confirming that you are fit to fly.
If the POC is to be used onboard it is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that they have a sufficient number of fully charged batteries for the duration of the flight and any possible delays, as POC or batteries cannot be charged on board.
Therapeutic Oxygen is restricted to one customer per flight. If you require it, please contact our Special Assistance team. We recommend contacting us on the same day as the flight booking is made. The team will send a medical clearance form. This form must be completed and sent back to us for validation between 14 days up to 2 days prior to your outbound flight.
The customer must carry the validated Therapeutic Oxygen Medical Clearance form on all flights and cannot be accepted for travel without it.
A fee per flight applies to the provision of therapeutic oxygen. The fee is payable at the time the Therapeutic Oxygen Medical Clearance Form is returned for validation. Once validated the form will be returned to you via email and should then be presented to cabin crew on boarding the aircraft.
Ryanair supplies therapeutic oxygen at a continuous flow rate of 2 litres per minute - max duration of 250 minutes. Ryanair cannot accept passengers for travel requiring a continuous supply of oxygen of more than 250 minutes.
