Seat Policy

Ryanair offers the option to purchase reserved seats or free seats, which are assigned randomly during check-in. Passengers who choose ‘random seat allocation’ can check in between 24 hours and 2 hours before the flight departure time.

If you purchase a seat at the time of booking, during check-in, or at any point leading-up to your flight, you can choose where to sit and that seat will be reserved for you. Online check-in opens 60 days before the scheduled departure time if you have purchased an allocated seat.

The price of a reserved seat depends on where you choose to sit on the aircraft.

If you choose not to pay to reserve a seat, your seat will be assigned to you free of charge when you check in, between 24 hours and 2 hours prior to departure.

We recommend that you reserve your seat when booking or when checking in to guarantee a seat beside your travel companions. If you choose not to reserve a seat, then a seat will be randomly allocated to you free of charge when checking in, but it is unlikely it will be beside your travel companions.

For safety reasons, children aged between 2 and 11 years must sit next to an accompanying adult, and infants (8 days to 23 months inclusive) must sit on an accompanying adult's lap.

Families may choose either to reserve seats or select free random allocation.

If families choose to reserve their seats, children’s seats must be selected next to the adult’s reserved seats. In this case, check-in online will be available 60 days before departure.

If random allocation is selected, children will be seated next to an accompanying adult on the same reservation free of charge. Other adults and teens on the booking may be allocated seats separately. 

Yes. You can change your seats by going to My Booking and selecting ‘change seats’ on your upcoming trip.

No. Reserved seats cannot be removed from your booking, and refunds are not possible once purchased.

Yes. Firstly, purchase two full-fare flight tickets. Book the first ticket in your name. Then for your second ticket, enter ‘EXTRA’ as the first name and ‘COMFORT SEAT’ as the last name. ‘EXTRA COMFORT SEAT’ will then be added to your reservation. When checking in online, the same travel document details will be added for you and your extra seat.

If you have reserved a seat, you can check in for your flight between 60 days and 2 hours prior of your departure.

No, for safety reasons, you can only sit in an emergency exit seat if you are:

• 16 years or older;
• Willing and able to help in the event of an emergency;
• Travelling without an infant (this also applies to pax with seats leading to emergency exit rows);
• Do not require airport assistance of any kind;
• Do not require a seat belt extender;
• Have no extra comfort seat booked.

Only non-disabled adults are permitted to sit at emergency seat rows as you may be called upon to assist crew members in the unlikely event of an emergency evacuation.
