Sports & Music Equipment Luggage
Sports equipment fitting cabin allowance may be carried onboard. Larger items can travel in an extra seat if safely secured, or be checked for a fee. Most equipment is limited to 20kg; bicycles allow 30kg, must be protected, and electric bicycles are prohibited. Extra seats include no baggage allowance.
You are permitted to carry any sports equipment with you onboard as long as it fits within your cabin bag allowance. For sports equipment that exceeds our cabin baggage dimensions and that fit safely in the seat, without obstructing other passengers, you can opt to pay an extra seat fare for it. To do this, you must purchase an extra flight ticket and seat. To book this extra seat, the word EXTRA must be entered as the first name, and ITEM SEAT must be entered as the surname.
Large sporting equipment (including large fishing rods, golf clubs, bikes, scooters, fencing equipment, pole vaults, javelins, surfboards, bodyboards, snowboards, and skis) and sporting equipment that could be used as a weapon (such as baseball bats or martial arts equipment) are unsuitable for being carried in the cabin on our flights.
However, these items weighing up to 20kg can be checked into the hold for a fee under the applicable sports equipment category. Standard checked baggage allowances do not apply to these items.

If your sports equipment weighs over the 20kg allowance (bike is 30kg allowance), you will be charged at the applicable excess baggage rate per kilo. See our Table of Fees.
*Bicycles (max weight 30kg), - MUST be contained in a protective box or protective bike bag in order to be accepted for travel. Electric bicycles cannot be transported on Ryanair’s aircraft.
