Can I change a name on my booking?
Yes, you can and you can make most of these changes online in the My Bookings section, once you have retrieved your booking.
You can correct spelling mistakes of up to 3 characters per name free of charge through the My Booking section up to 48 hours before scheduled departure. Full name changes will still incur a name change fee. For pricing information, please visit our Fee Table.
You can change the name on the flight up to 2 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart.
Please note in certain situations, it may be cheaper to purchase a new flight, rather than paying for a name change.
How do I make a name change?
- Click ‘Manage my Booking’ and then ‘Manage your trip.
- Select the ‘Change name’ option and choose the passenger’s name you wish to change and enter in the relevant fields the new passenger name.
- Once you’ve accepted this change you’ll be brought back to the active bookings page.

At the top of the page you’ll see the following “You’ve made changes to your trip, you’ll need to check out to confirm them.
- Select ‘Check out’ and enter in your payment details and click ‘Pay Now.’ You’ll receive an updated email itinerary with the updated name change.
Changing a name within 48 hours
Don’t worry, customers who have booked their flight directly on the Ryanair.com website have a 48 hour grace period from the time of original booking, to correct any minor errors (i.e. incorrect spelling of names) free of charge.
Changing a name outside 48 hours grace period
Passenger names can be changed up to 2 hours before the flight is scheduled to depart. You can correct spelling mistakes of up to 3 characters per name free of charge through the My Booking section up to 48 hours before scheduled departure. Further changes will incur a fee, starting at €/£115 via self-service online. If you wish to have an agent do these changes for you – this can be done at an increased price.
Middle Names and Surnames Changing a name outside 48 hours grace period
We do not require middle names or second surnames for flight bookings - one letter spelling errors do not need to be changed.
Maiden/Married Names
While booking a flight, we advise customers to enter names as they appear on passport of travel documentation. If a customer has booked in their maiden/married name & updates their name in their passport between booking a flight and the date of travel, we ask you to show proof of the name change (generally a copy of your marriage license) & this will be amended free of charge.
