Flight Changes
You can change your flight online up to 2.5 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of the original or new flight, whichever is earlier. Changes are subject to payment of a change fee, charged per person per flight. See our Table of Fees for details. You must also pay any difference between the original fare and any fees for optional services (such as check-in bags) paid at the time of the booking, and the fare/fees available when you make the change. Please note that, if the new fare/fee is cheaper than the original fare/fee, we will not refund the difference.

- Select the ‘Change your flight’ option and choose the flight you wish to change.
- Provide the details (date, time or route) of the new flight(s) for which you want to change the original flight(s).

- Once you enter in your payment details and click ‘Pay now’, you’ll receive an updated email itinerary with your new flight.

Flight Change Fees
Changes are subject to payment of a change fee, charged per person per flight. See our Table of Fees for details. You must also pay any difference between the original fare and any fees for optional services (such as check-in bags) paid at the time of the booking, and the fare/fees available when you make the change. Please note that, if the new fare/fee is cheaper than the original fare/fee, we will not refund the difference.
We allow a grace period of 24 hours from the time of your original booking to correct any minor errors you may have made (dates/times) free of charge. We also allow you to reverse the route if you’ve booked your flights incorrectly (e.g., you may change DUB to STN to STN to DUB). During this time no flight change fee will be charged, however, you will need to pay any fare difference.
Change My Flight Extras
We always try to transfer any product/extras to your new flight.
If the exact product is unavailable, we will substitute it with a similar product, e.g., if you booked Priority & 2 Cabin Bags on your original flight and this is not available on your new flight, you will be given a 10kg Check-in Bag.
If you selected a specific seat on your original flight, there is no guarantee that we will be able to transfer this to your new flight as it may not be available. If this happens, we will transfer you to the next best available option.
Yes. You can purchase products for your new flight if you wish to do so.
Changing your booked flight or route on the day of travel
With a Flexi Plus fare, you can change your booked flight on the day of travel, free of charge, to a flight on the same route as your original flight (if a seat is available). If you change your booked flight on the day of travel to a flight on a different route you will not have to pay a flight-change fee, but you must pay any difference in the fare. If you are changing to a later flight, you can make the change up to one hour before the departure time of the original flight. If you are changing to an earlier flight, you can make the change:
- up to 40 minutes before the new flight if you make the change at the airport ticket desk; or
- up to one hour before the new flight if you make the change through a contact centre.
Changing your booked flight or route before the day of travel
If you change to a flight departing one day or more before or after the original flight, you will not have to pay a flight-change fee, but you must pay any difference in the fare. You can make the change up to one hour before the departure time of the original flight. If you are changing to an earlier flight, you can make the change:
- up to 40 minutes before the new flight if you make the change at the airport ticket desk; or
- up to one hour before the new flight if you make the change through a contact centre.
If you have already checked in online for the original flight, you will need to contact us to uncheck that flight before you can make the change. With a Flexi Plus ticket you can check in at the airport free of charge.
You can change the route of all flights in a booking online through My bookings section. However, once you have taken the outbound flight, you can only change the route of the return flight at an airport ticket desk or through a call centre. You can only change the route between the same departure country and destination country.
When you change a flight, the services included in Flexi Plus are transferred to the new flight (if those services are available for that flight). If a service cannot be transferred, you will not get a refund of any part of the Flexi Plus fare.

Adding & Removing Passengers to a Booking
If you have already made your booking and wish to add an infant (0-2 years), you need to:
- Click ‘My Bookings’ on Ryanair’s website or ‘My trips’ on the mobile app.
- Log into your myRyanair account.
- Select ‘Manage this booking’ on the booking you need to change.
- Select “Add minors” from the left-hand menu and click on “Add Infant”.
- Enter the name and date of birth for the infant.
- Choose the adult passenger you want the infant to travel with.
- Click to Add infant.
- Pay the applicable infant fee.*
- Infant will be added to your booking.
Once the change is confirmed, you will be brought back to the upcoming trip page and will see the infant next to the adult passenger selected to travel with.
If any seat(s) change are needed when adding an infant, you will be taken to the seat map to confirm those changes.
Adults travelling with an infant can carry a baby bag up to 5kg, in addition to their cabin bag allowance. You can also carry one fully collapsible pushchair and another smaller item such a car seat or travel cot for free. Ensure that your pushchair is tagged at bag drop desk or boarding gate. Any other items (maximum 20kg) will need to be checked in for a fee and place in the aircraft hold. For further baggage info click here.
If your infant turns 2 years before their return journey, you must purchase a full-fare adult ticket for their return flight. Please contact us if this scenario arises.
*Check the infant fee on our table of fees here.
Minors (2-15 years) cannot be added to an existing adult’s booking (as they are not allowed to travel alone), however you can create a new adult booking for them and link it to your original booking so you can travel together. Note that the minor must travel accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. The passenger type will be updated for each minor during the linking process to either a child (2-11years) or teen (12-15 years).
Important Info
- To link the bookings, go to the original adult booking and select “Add minors” from the left-hand menu
- Select, or retrieve, the new adult booking you created, enter the date of birth for each minor, and then both bookings will be linked with the passenger types updated.
- You should check-in online for both bookings, otherwise you will be charged at the airport. Minors will be issued temporary boarding passes during online check-in.
- If purchasing a seat for a child, we recommend selecting a seat as close as possible to an adult in the original booking.'
- When you arrive at the airport, go to the check-in desk where all minors will be issued valid boarding passes.
- For children with no seats assigned, staff at the check-in desk will assign seats next to an adult. If that's no possible, cabin crew will help seat you together.
It’s not necessary to add an adult to an existing booking as adult tickets can be purchased individually.
If one of the passengers in your booking cannot travel, no action is needed. We cannot remove them from the booking, and no refund will be issued.
Changing passenger type
When you make a booking for multiple passengers you need to select their passenger type. This is based on whether they are an adult (+16 years), teen (12-15 years), child (2-11 years) or an infant (under 2 years). You will need to make sure they have the right passenger type by the time they travel, if not, you can make changes by:
- Click ‘My Bookings’ on Ryanair’s website or ‘My trips’ on the mobile app.
- Log into your myRyanair account.
- Go to ‘Manage this booking’ on the booking you need to change.
- Select ‘Change passenger type’ option.
- Choose the passenger(s) you want to change.
- Enter the passengers date of birth and confirm to change passenger type.
- Continue to finish the passenger type change.
Once the change is confirmed, you will be brought back to the upcoming trip page and the passenger type will be updated.
We might need to make changes to your seat when you change passenger type. You’ll be taken to the seat map to confirm your new seat and the payment page if needed.
Passenger type changes are free of charge. Though, if you are changing a child to an adult, you won’t get a free seat through our Family seats rules and will need to pay a fee.
