I couldn’t travel due to a bereavement. Can I get a refund?

All Ryanair air fares are non-refundable, which is why we strongly recommend travel insurance.

If a passenger on your booking or an immediate family member (partner/parent/child only) passes away within 10 days prior to your flight, you may apply for travel credit using our Travel Credit Request Form. This application must be submitted prior to your date of travel (to allow Ryanair to release your seats) and must include;

  • Your flight reservation number
  • Your relationship with the deceased
  • Documentary evidence (death certificate/notice)

Your application will be reviewed by our Customer Service Team and should it be accepted, credit to the full value of your relevant booking will be issued to the lead passenger on their myRyanair wallet. This credit may be used to rebook flights within 12 months of the issue date. If you fail to use this credit within 12 months, then this credit will expire. If the lead passenger on the booking passes away, their executor will need to apply on their behalf.

Immediate family members include your husband/wife, legal civil partner, parents, and children. Siblings and grandparents will not be covered.
